70% of strokes and heart attacks are caused by high blood pressure. The unhealthy modern lifestyle is a mojor cause of high blood pressure. So how can we lower blood pressure without taking drugs?

1. Eat Less salt

Salt increases blood pressure. Reducing your salt intake may not be enough to reduce your overall daily salt intake. Processed foods, such as biscuits, snacks, breakfast cereals and fast food also contain large amounts of salt. So consume less of these food types as well.

2. Eat dark chocolate

Dark chocolate contains flavones, which help to make blood vessels more elastic. Studies have found that people who eat dark chocolate every day have reduced blood pressure.

3. Eat bananas

Eating potassium-rich foods, such as bananas, and reducing salt intake can help prolong life. Potassium is an important mineral that can control the balance of human body fluid and lower blood pressure. Eating five portions of fruit and vegetables every day can ensure that there is enough potassium in the body. Other foods with high potassium levels include legumes, fish, shellfish, nuts, seeds and milk.

4. Start drinking hibiscus tea

The study found that hibiscus tea can effectively reduce blood pressure, which is due to that the plant chemicals contained in hibiscus tea have lower blood pressure effect. Many of the tea contains hibiscus, you can look for those rich in hibiscus.

5. Go for brisk walks

Brisk walks help to bring blood pressure down.  The effect is even better than running. It is best to walk 30 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week.

6. Get sufficient sleep

Try to get 7-8 hours sleep each night. It is best to go to bed before 11 o'clock, and to develop a regular sleep pattern.
