I wanted to share my story with all the animal lovers out there. My 15 yr old orange tabby named Mikey is assumed to have intestinal lymphoma and Feline Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (FOSCC) based on history, ultrasound, and visual markers. The tumor in the back of his mouth was interfering in his eating and grooming, and he has issues with constipation due to the thickening of the intestinal lining. He was in severe pain, as his gums were swollen and was on antibiotics constantly. He always has dried blood around his lips and would paw at his mouth alot. He was in bad shape. If he was off antibiotics and pain meds for just 24 hours, he declined rapidly. Im a functional nutrition educator and specialize in treating cancer in humans. So, I started giving him niclosamide mixed with mct oil for increased bioavailability. I do feel that would be a good option for SCC, however, administering anything orally to Mikey was causing him much stress, and i didnt want to make him more miserable. Yes, I threw everything but the frequency for the kitchen sink. I stopped all meds and made the decision that if Spooky didnt work, id put him to sleep. But after less than 48 hours, Mikey started eating again. Another 24 hours, he stopped hiding under the bed, and gradually began grooming himself, purring, and this morning….4 days after starting Spooky, he was playing with his ball. I’m beyond ecstatic and I’m in shock. He still paws at his mouth after eating or grooming but im optimistic the tumor will reduce in size. I simply cannot believe how much better he is in such a short time. I hope this helps somebody, because I understand the desperation and feeling of helplessness when it comes to our furbabies.
