Have you ever felt it hard to think clearly or concentrate? Do you notice that your memory is slowly slipping away? If your answer is yes, you might be experiencing symptoms of brain fog.Indeed, these symptoms may sound harmless, and some people might also believe these are natural age-related changes. But what would happen if these symptoms become more frequent in a way that you can feel the regression every day?

In this blog, let’s look at what brain fog is, its symptoms, its causes, and how to beat it naturally.

What is brain fog?

Brain fog is not an illness but rather a series of symptoms affecting brain function. You may feel like a thin layer of fog has surrounded your head and is slowing all the activities inside your brain.

Common symptoms of brain fog include:

  • Poor concentration.
  • Slow thinking.
  • Forgetfulness.
  • Mood swings.
  • Mental fatigue.

If left untreated, brain fog can negatively affect the quality of your daily life and lead to other diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, memory loss, and Alzheimer’s disease. While this may sound frustrating, the good news is there are treatments available to control the symptoms, and identifying the hidden cause can stop brain fog from recurring in the future.

What causes brain fog?

Here are some possible causes of brain fog. Once the root cause is determined, you can begin to handle this problem effectively.

Poor sleep

The brain cleans up toxins during sleep time, and too little sleep can interfere with your brain functions, leading to poor concentration and overloaded thoughts. Getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep per night is key to tackling brain fog.

Stress

When your brain is overloaded and exhausted, it becomes harder to think and focus. Some may not realize the impact, but it can also increase blood pressure, weaken your immune system, and trigger depression.

Lack of exercise

Exercise releases a protein called a brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which acts like a fertilizer that helps brain cells to grow. So, exercising more daily is also essential for dealing with brain fog.

Lyme disease

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection triggered by infected tick bites. If the disease has not been controlled or treated promptly, the infection can spread to other areas, including the nerves, liver, and eyes. It may also expand to the brain and spinal cord and cause brain fog.

How to help with brain fog naturally?

Fortunately, there are some beneficial daily habits to have that can reduce brain fog:

Maintain good physical health

A healthy lifestyle is one of the essential keys to maintaining your brain functions, including regular exercise, adequate sleep, stress management, and a healthy diet.

Meditation

Meditation can help reduce stress as well as relax your brain and body.

Brain training

Spend some time each day to exercise your brain. You can try Sudoku and crosswords, which are entertaining and can improve your brain’s speed and memory.

  1. I just received my spooky2 and had a friend set it up last night but my second generator is not working along with 1st one. Plus, it seems like the EMFs are not good my dog is even bothered by them, since I plugged it all in last night. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
